Some inventors are long on creativity but short on manufacturing or marketing know how.

For them, the only practical route to transforming their idea into a product which gets into distribution is to find a company which will license their technology, manufacture the product and market it.

We can assist inventors who have a patent, patent pending or a provisional patent application filed, locate these companies (prospective licensees), using one of the following methods:

1.  Direct Solicitation Approach ("We go to them")
We compile a list of qualified candidates, screen them by phone, create a mailout package, solicit them directly by mail and follow-up to determine if they have an interest in licensing the rights to a particular item.

2.  Indirect Solicitation Approach ("They come to us")
A less expensive alternative to a direct solicitation campaign is to include an inventor's product on our Licenses Available page and see if we can attract a prospective licensee. If not, a more aggressive, albeit more costly direct solicitation approach can be launched at any time.

3.  Do-It-Yourself Approach ("We tell you how to do it")
Some inventors have the time and willingness to do their own licensee solicitation but may not have much, if any, marketing background.  What they need is specific, written guidance in the marketing/licensing area (a targeted plan) which they can implement themselves and save thousands of dollars by doing so.  We can create such a plan for you.  The total cost of approximately $450.00 also includes a phone consultation with Harold Westbrook to answer your questions and get you started.

Once a prospective licensee has been located, we can assist the inventor in negotiating a licensing agreement.

When Solve-It! Marketing Company is engaged to find a licensee, through the Direct Solicitation Approach (basic method 1), we are reimbursed for expenses and are paid either a fee of $75.00 / man hour (times the number of hours the project requires) or on a negotiated fixed fee (turnkey) basis for these efforts.  The hourly or fixed fee however, is refunded in full (100%) out of our 25% share of the licensing fee, minimum guaranteed payments and/or royalty payments when we are successful in licensing a product.

The cost to an inventor to be included in our web site's Licenses Available section (basic method 2), is a small, one time fee of $350.00 to cover the costs of getting his/her information written up & photo scanned in and a small monthly fee of $15.00 (first 12 months are prepaid) to maintain the information on our site.  If we succeed in getting a product licensed, we are paid 25% of the licensing fee, minimum guaranteed payments and/or royalty payments.
